My Approach
My practice is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS), an experiential approach to therapy based on the idea that we all contain different “parts” of ourselves — protective parts, wounded parts, striving parts, critical parts — each carrying its own emotions, beliefs, and strategies for helping us navigate life.
Rather than trying to eliminate those parts, IFS helps us understand them more deeply and build new ways of relating to ourselves. For many people, this can create meaningful shifts in longstanding emotional patterns, trauma, relationships, and the way they move through the world.
I like to work in a warm, collaborative, and non-directive way. Rather than focusing on diagnosis or fixing, therapy becomes a space to listen more carefully to the parts of ourselves that have been working hard to protect us—making it possible for longstanding patterns to begin shifting in meaningful ways.

About me
I’m David, a therapist based in Portland, Oregon.
I welcome clients across identities, backgrounds, and experiences, including LGBTQ+ clients. I aim to offer therapy that is affirming, non-pathologizing, and grounded in humility about the limits of my own lived experience.
I am a licensed psychedelic facilitator and welcome conversations around psychedelic experiences and integration work.
I offer 50-minute individual therapy sessions for adults, both online throughout Oregon and in-person in Portland. My fee is $150 per session, and I do not currently accept insurance.
Because I maintain a small solo practice with limited availability, I may not be the best fit for clients needing intensive or highly available support between sessions.
